A couple of weeks ago, we photographed a beautiful project that we completed last year. It was an extensive remodel to an existing home. The changes we made to the property started on the outside, with a complete landscape renovation that created a secret garden in the front of the house. All of the exterior wood decks were fabricated from scaffolding planks. The weathered wood added the perfect amount of age to contrast with the crisp white stucco. A pair of Bevelo gas lanterns flank the new Dutch entry door. We replaced the small window in the entry with a larger one, allowing more light f
rom two side. An Antique Swedish bench is the perfect place to put on your shoes before leaving. A charming diminutive lantern from Urban Electric Company hangs is centered on the window and entry door. The main living and dining room flow together. We reupholstered our clients’ existing sofas in neutral linen and added a pair of George chairs, upholstered in a luscious teal velvet. We replaced the dated wood mantel with a mantel from Formations. We added a pair of steel doors by Riviera Bronze that allow the dining room to open to the deck on the side of the house. Our clients’ saltware collection hangs on the wall above a Rose Tarlow Console. The deck outside the kitchen and dining room is built from used scaffolding planks. We completely renovated the kitchen, replacing the upper cabinets with marble slab shelves, and adding an industrial inspired stainless steel island. A decorative tile backsplash from Walker Zanger is now the focal point of the kitchen. The rest of the walls in the kitchen are white tile by Waterworks.
