However, I believe there is still much to explore whether a vessel is functional or non-functional. Form, color, proportion, texture — all play an important role in how an object is perceived. Sandblasting or acid polishing the surface emphasizes the form, and highlights colors interaction with light.” – Scott Gamble These three vases showcase light and color. The two larger vases are handblown with a long, slender flared neck on a bulbous body while the smaller vase features a short neck and a round base. Scott Gamble is a renown American glass artist who resides over Method Glassworks in Denver, Colorado who has been blowing glass for over ten years. He graduated from Southern Illinois University. After graduation he continued his education, studying with the Masters, in Murano, Italy. An old Murano saying goes “Good tools are nice, but good hands are better.”

s art, glass sculpture and a little bit of history! -Ship worldwide from the Czech Republic. This iconic amethyst vase is beautifully elegant in its proportions with a strong art deco form. The undulating rim and the moulded curves of the design has resulted in collecters labelling it the ‘drapery’ vase. Designed by Vaclav Hanus in 1957 and pressed by Hermanova sklo from the late 1950’s to 1980’s. The design first appeared in Czechoslovak Glass review in late 1963. The vase is approximately 12 x 12 x 12 x 12 cm (4.7 x 4.7 x 4.7 x 4.7 inches) across the top and 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 cm (2.36 x 2.36 x 2.36 x 2.36 inches) across base and 19 cm (7.48 inches) tall. Weight approximately 955 g (2.1 lbs). The vase is in good condition with no cracks, bruises or chips. There are scratches to the top edge and the base and one chip on the edge of the base. All items are carefully packed so that they arrive in perfect condition. Please be aware… when you are buying vintage glassware, you should expect some age related signs of wear such as very small fine surface scratches/marks. Also many of the items are hand made, they may have small imperfections such as bubbles, inclusions & lumps within the glass and often tool marks from where they have been shaped and worked in the manufacturing process. These are not usually seen by collectors as faults or damage, but as part of the character of hand made glass and are not usually mentioned in the description.
