This is a very decorative cloisonné vase, made in China and dating to the mid-20th century.The vase has a good baluster shape. It is beautifully made of a bronze alloy with rich colorful enamels, set into a black ground.The decoration shows two different flowering shrubs, the pink one from a rocky base and with a small yellow bird shown in flight. There are borders to the base rim and upper neck rim with the upper rim having a continuous Ruji Head border pattern, which is a typical detail of Chinese cloisonné.We date this piece to the mid 20th century, circa 1940.
