I am finally getting around to posting about the spring décor on my mantel for this year. I decorated it just before Easter but haven’t had a chance to share it until now. I started by bringing down this sunburst mirror which usually hangs in an upstairs bedroom. I thought it made the scene more spring-like than the black mirror I’ve had here for ages. Although I have now removed all my other Easter décor, I did leave these 2 little bunnies on my mantel. Easter was so early this year, I needed to enjoy them a bit longer. Two faux candles and a wooden lantern sit on one side of the bunnies. A faux grass orb was placed on top of a decorative votive holder inside the lantern. Another lantern and faux spring blossoms adorn the right side of the mantel. The full view. The hearth got a spring treatment as well. This decorative box has been fun to dress up for different occasions (as seen in my last post). This fluffy cream-coloured throw was a recent birthday gift from my daughter. Along with it, I added a book, a white bird, faux tulips and green garden ball to the box. Next to the box, I filled a metal container with real pussywillow branches. LED branch lights add some ambiance to the arrangement. A cozy throw and love pillow accent this comfy chair next to the fireplace. This time, I chose to leave the curtain rod beneath the mantel unadorned but it does come in handy for Christmas stockings and other seasonal décor when desired. I also always have a string of white mini-lights along the back of the mantel. I need to come up with a better system but you can see below how the cord goes along the side and is covered by the mirror and then the vase on that side of the fireplace. And also just to show you some real life in front of the Spring Mantel – here is a pic from last week that I snapped with my cell phone. It is my birthday tablescape which I set-up quickly when Mr. Delight said he would cook me a steak & crab dinner for the occasion. The charger plates were a birthday gift from my son – there will be an upcoming tablescape post showing them in better detail so stay tuned. Hope you enjoyed seeing my spring mantel for 2016.
