Okay…so I’m having flashbacks of my last Jeffrey Court Challenge! Just like last time week 5 just flew by! I have so much to complete in such a short time. This seems to be the time when I seem to really thrive though and I finally can see my vision come to life. Renovating any space by yourself in just 6 weeks from the studs up is not for the faint of heart. So, I’m going to make this week short and sweet, and then back to work for me. So … if you have been following along you would know that this week was pretty much about tiling and even more tiling. My tiling skills are starting to get pretty good! Cuts are nice and tight this time. I did things a little different this time. Way more planning on the back end. I started with the floor which I used Jeffrey Court’s Laurel Bass Mosaic … which seems to be a real fan favorite. It is absolutely even more beautiful in person. Total showstopper! I measured out the entire space and figured out how I can get the same cut on both the right and left side of the room. I dry fit the space and cut all my pieces before laying any tile. Pretty incredible already! Beyond excited about this tile. Once everything was cut, I started to lay the tile. I used wedge spacers this time as well to really make sure the floor was completely level. This was so easy and really helped keep everything in place. Umm… do you see that cut butted against the tub? I’m just saying … professional! Lol!! Once the floor was in, I moved on to the accent wall where the vanity would be along with one of the shower walls. Also, tiling and finishing up the niche! I used Jeffrey Court’s Dreamcicle tile for the accent wall. Once this wall was finished came the tricky part. I wanted something as a focal point for the shower wall that you see as soon as you walk into the room. So after much debate and removal of tile over and over again … this was the design I came up with! I used teak wood for the niche shelves and had always planned on adding them as a cool different style. I loved the wood so much against the tile that I decided to add it to so many spots of my design plan. One of the main places would be to make a divider between my two tile designs. Separating the two tiles and really giving them their own space created an incredible focal design feature. I can see this space so well now! It’s going to be so unique and incredible!!! Who’s getting excited for the reveal! Don’t get to excited yet … do you see all those grout lines! 😉 So … here’s where we are ending for the week! The last week is when everything finally comes together magically! Magically is me staying up all hours in sheer panic! Lol!! Be sure to check out the other great designers participating in the Jeffrey Court All Star Challenge and remember you can vote for your favorite designer!! I don’t think I need to remind you who that is! LOL! Last week to VOTE guys … you can also vote everyday! Jessie
