Welcome friends! If you are new to my site, thank you for stopping by! I honestly didn’t know whether or not I would be able wrap up this project for the final reveal in time or not. With all the shenanigans we have had at the farm with the snakes and the chickens, to Dr.’s Apts. to just last minute set backs, this Spring ORC has truly been a challenge. But as with most things, anything worth while is usually a challenge! So, I’m dying to give you a tour of OUR French Farmhouse Nursery! We started off by giving this ceiling a beautiful wood treatment. You can read about that here. I have many many favorites to this nursery, but I think by far the ceiling is my prized possession;) It just adds so much rustic charm and character but, still lends to that light and airy feel I love so much! We knew right away, we were going to mix old and new. We ended up finding this 1940’s-50’s era pedal car, and I just fell in love with the colors, the rust and the nostalgia of this piece. I ended up choosing a round crib, I originally wanted a crib from Restoration Hardware, but I quickly came off my high horse with a price tag of $1400, I then found a tufted crib I liked for around $599 and for several months, I felt like such a bargain shopper. But when it came down to it, I knew I didn’t want a crib that would grow with him, I like to change decor way to much to be tied to a crib that eventually turned into a bed, so I found this crib for a steal of a deal. I also originally wanted a Lamb rocker from RH as well, but I messed around and when I went to buy it, it was no longer on sale. So I found a Groupon for this little guy for $43.. random price.. but it beats the crap out of $179… any day… and I feel it looks more farmhouse-y. I originally bought this blue rug for my living room, but I’m currently going another direction with it, so I decided to save it and use it for the nursery. However I bought it to go under my coffee table so it was only a 5×8 and it floated in the room… none of the furniture made contact with it. So I ended up buying a bleached jute rug in an 8×10 and I’m so glad I did, it gives the room so much texture and it is the softest jute rug I have ever owned! I started to get the toddler quilt, but I decided I would make my own. Tutorial Coming soon! I ended up getting a gorgeous medallion to showcase our vintage pendant light that I ended up getting for $10. I think it turned out gorgeous. Another feature I love, is this DIY rollup curtain I made. I knew I wanted a pattern with french grain sack somewhere. So, I decided to do it on the window treatment. Currently this is a fixed treatment, meaning it doesn’t roll up and down, we have really nice wood blinds that actually block out a lot of light, so I didn’t mess with trying to make this a working curtain. My sanity thanks me! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. I’m in love with this rocker, it’s large, comes up high and looks seriously chic in this nursery. The button tufts really add to the feel and texture of the room. Of course, no chair would be complete without a gorgeous pillow to compliment it. Thank you Melissa from le lis home for sending me this perfect farm house pillow… and even better, it’s custom! To purchase this pillow from Melissa’s Etsy Shop, click here JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. The shelves were kept simple with vintage decor items. I used thrift store books to create these yummy textured book stacks. The knobs got updated as well. I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up these cute little deer head knobs. Now I have to brag on my husband ya’ll, I showed him a pic I found on Pinterest of an airplane shelf, and he built me one in one night! When he got it done, it looked so cute and just how I wanted it, it made me want to cry! I was so in love! I’m thinking of doing a tutorial, I never could find one, and then I realized why…. It’s not a beginner project and you need a lot of tools…lucky for me my husband works on cars and we have a nice shop full of tools, but I still might show it anyways.. just for kicks! If making one is not your forte however, you can purchase one here off ETSY JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. And here is a shot of the room with light turned on… Thought you might want to see that vintage beauty gleaming:) And…. too please:) Thank you for stopping by friends and I hope you enjoyed our sweet little nursery! Our baby boy is due July 27 and I cannot wait to bring him home to this sweet room! It’s everything I hoped for and more! Have a beautiful day and I’ll be seeing ya soon with some more tutorials and projects coming up! Stay tuned! Learn more about
