A stunning Chinese late Qing dynasty langyao monochrome red glazed tianquiping bottle vase, 19th century. Of bottle form, the vase with a globular body and tall, wide neck, all sitting upon a short recessed foot and covered in a fascinating monochrome red glaze of crushed raspberry color. The glaze displaying wonderful streaking throughout the body and a glassy finish with a very subtle crackle just under the surface. The runny glaze covering the foot, and showing signs of having been cut off the firing block and ground down. The recessed foot glazed with a near celadon crackled glaze. Well-potted, the generously swelling pear-shaped body rising from a short spreading foot to a tapering neck with broad everted rim, the exterior covered in a rich copper-red glaze, the interior and recessed base glaze white and with a six-character Qianlong seal mark, hairlines at bottom.
