Recycled DIY Glass Bottle Torches
Things to make
This product is 5 lines of light coming from one power source. Each line is 6 feet long. Each line has 20 warm white fairy lights. You get 100 total lights for one low price. (We sell the lights only. Watering can is not included. I got the 2 qt elephant watering can in picture 2 from WalMart.) If you want to make a watering can with lights, this is one of the products that you need, but waterfall lights have many, many different uses. The wires are available in copper or silver wire color. All of the LEDs are warm white, but the copper wire lights look slightly warmer than the silver wire lights. The lights in the main picture are on silver wire. Power options: AA Battery Pack, Waterproof AA Pack, C Battery Pack, Waterproof D Battery Pack, Waterproof Solar Pack, USB Input, 110V Plug-in. The new waterproof AA pack comes with a remote control. It has on, off, and flash functions, but it does not come with a timer. The 110V plug-in will work for US and Canadian customers. Other international customers should choose the USB input option if you want to use plug-in power. The regular AA Pack and Plug-in are not waterproof. If you want to use them outdoors, you will need to wrap them securely to protect them from moisture. The solar pack does not include a timer. It has an electric eye that turns the lights on a dusk and turns them off when it gets light again. (Please note that the solar pack does not include a stake since most units are mounted well off of the ground.) If you want to create a watering can with lights that look like flowing water, this is the product for you. SOME HELPFUL DETAILS ON ASSEMBLING A WATERING CAN WITH LIGHTS – This is a very simple project. I have made several for my house and for friends and family. It is about a 5 minute project once you have all of the pieces in place. – When sourcing a watering can, it is best to find one with a nozzle that can be removed. You can feed all 5 lines through the spout and then feed them through the nozzle one line at a time. – If the holes in your nozzle are too small to feed the fairy lights through, just make the holes a bit larger. I have never had to drill. I use the tip of my needle nose p
liers. Just push the tip in a hole and give it a twist. Spread out the holes for a good pattern and make 5 holes minimum or more holes if you want some of the lines to go down and back up into the nozzle. – If the nozzle does not come off, it is more of a problem, but it is still pretty easy to do. Make sure you holes are big enough to feed the fairy lights through. Then run a line through the nozzle and down into the can. Attach one line of fairy lights to your line and pull it back up the spout and through the nozzle. Repeat 5 times. – Tip: I do make a small hole at the bottom of my cans because I don’t want them holding water after a rain. – Tip: If you are using a solar pack, align the pack to get the most light later in the day. – Tip: I create a holder for the solar pack with craft wire. I make a small loop on one end to fit into the slot where you would normally put a stake. I then coil the other end around the shepherd’s hook or other holder to keep it where I want it to go.
